Applying for Scholarship Programs from Healthcare Schools

Short staffed hospitals and healthcare schools are aware of the shortage of healthcare workers in a rapidly growing industry. If you’re a prospective student looking for an education in healthcare, researching scholarships is an excellent first step; but don’t stop at the scholarships available from organizations, private parties, and the government.

Find the health care school that’s best for you and request information on any school-based scholarships available; this is an excellent method for finding financial aid that you never have to pay back. Healthcare schools may offer scholarships to attract minors, adult learners, and stay-at-home moms into the healthcare industry, just like other scholarship programs open to all schools.

One example of a school-based scholarship program is “Project Working Mom…And Dads Too!” This scholarship program has less than ten schools participating, but reaches out to an online community across the nation with quality healthcare programs—or other online degree programs!—that may be completed in the comfort of your own home.

When looking into scholarship programs offered by schools, here are a few suggestions:

  • Do research on healthcare schools available and find the ones that are the most interest to you
  • Request more information
  • Review the information provided and contact the schools
  • Ask the schools if they have any financial aid programs, or know of any programs, for the healthcare education degree(s) you are applying for
